Reactive dogs welcome!!

Reactive dogs are a part of everything that we do – we have reactive dogs regularly attending all our classes and workshops, we make sure they feel safe, giving them distance and (if required) visual barriers to help them feel comfortable with their surroundings.

Many people with reactive dogs start by having a 1-2-1 with Claire for individual behavioural support. Alternatively, you can come to one of our Reactive Dog Workshops as a first step (see our What’s on page for details of the next one), to help you learn how to support your dog to become calm and confident around people, other dogs, or whatever their triggers are.

Most people will then go on to do a Life Skills course with their dogs, where the dogs will learn to be calm in the presence of other dogs and people and they will improve their recall as well as learning other skills essential for everyday life. Dogs tend to transform in this class, they become more confident and more able to deal with the world around them.

From there, the sky is the limit! Having a reactive dog does not mean that you can’t have a lot of fun with your dog. Have a browse of What’s On and try out agility, hoopers, obedience and rally, trick training, lure coursing and scent work.
